While we were away, I saw a local person advertising 8 week old pullets for sale so I put my name down for four. 
So I won't be raising any baby chicks just yet this year - (over) half the work has been done for me!

Brrr - a cold snap hit us and it was just as cold at home as it had been down in the South Island!
Our first frost - we only got one last year - and definitely not in May!

This is what happens when you take a young girl grocery shopping after she has been to a birthday party and had her face painted (Rainbow Leopard). She takes every chance she can to make sure her face is still painted!

And Home Sweet Home!

We had enjoyed seeing the Autumn colour further south where it's already been a lot colder than at home - but were pleased with the show the trees put on for us when we got home!

Heading north, and while spotting the mountains along the Desert rd was difficult due to clouds, sighting Lake Taupo was easy.
